The industrial conveyor dishwasher door is missing a part but it is functional and requires two (2) person to push the door up and I make sure that the latch hold it up....but after more than a month using the machine during lunchtime and dinnertime...the door gave way....and dropped in my right hand..causing crushed injury with laceration. I was taken in the ED and the doctor stitched the wound..and bandaged my hand so tight ..send me to X-ray and send me home. I was vomitting and he gave mt Morphine and Valium to sleeep and he said...I can go back to work in a weeks' time. My GP outside the Hospital after a couple days told me to go back to ED because something is wrong with my hand. Upon going there...he had one look at my hand and he called some other Doctors to look at the x-ray and only then the fructures is identifed...in three fingers..it was only 'a hairline fructure' but once the proper treatment was done...and I was taken in the Operating Theatre...the doctors reopen the swollen hand and took all the dead infected tissues away and check my hand for any tendon damage. They send me home this time with a proper arm and hand support and a cast that I have to keep for three (3 ) weeks . That three (3)...my hand was already showing signs of CRPS Type 2. ...color change even when I go on the beach....thousand needles like pain...a jolting stabbing pain it wake me from sleep.....I now also have pain feeling the burning sensation and stiffness in my eyes and along my spine...my right hand that is injured...is like also in my left hand......and sometimes in my leg..it can be anywhere and the sudden burning pain making me aware..so painful to feel! It drives me crazy...I scream...waking in my sleep with nightmares and jolt pain! I resist at the moment to get the treatment I read as a relief...I stay with pain killer Endone, Endep, Epilim and Zoloft and Valium....and Acupuncture. I even tremours in my hand and lower leg..not both. I fear for the future..I am 61 years old now...I cannot work because of the psychological effect of the CRPS pain..its distubing........! I do not wish this for anyone!!!!!!!! It's been almost three (3) years now since the work accident. nina reynolds Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04070851848037057476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-942200105185190310.post-45282679140454949512012-04-06T21:57:24.546-07:002012-04-06T21:57:24.546-07:00Hi Nancy, Your blog and storyis a big help!!! I ha...Hi Nancy, Your blog and storyis a big help!!! I have RSD since Dec '07. I was hit by a 16-y-old coming out of a driveway where the view was obstructed by a large moving truck to his left. He accelerated, thinking it's clear and hit us head-on with me veering to the left having less than a second. I have RSD in both upper extremities and it now nmoved into the feet. I also have a bad whiplash that has not been operated, only chiropractic, and a lot of doctors tried to blame my hand pain on my neck. I have had epidurals in the neck that lasted only 3 weeks each and one SGB which gave relief for less than 3 days. I was born and raised in Germany and so speak the language 100%. Your article gives me a lot of hope for the ketamine treatment. I was thinking of spinal cord stimulator but reading your account, I have second thoughts now. I can feel your pain, your frustration!!! Life is NOT the same. I have the unusual profession of being a classical guitarist, teach guitar, piano, and violin, and have a BMus in Guitar Performance, and a MA in music. The first year was ok, accompanying students, but now I stopped practicing. Any prolonged pressure on keys or strings triggers pain. My daughter had an arthroscopy having had her right ankle talus bone fractured from this accident. Thank God, she is fine now. I can feel your pain!!!! I am trying to rest a lot and not move but at the same time have to move to avoid losing movement in my hands. I still teach and I can still play, but I if I play longer than 15 minutes my wrists start to active the pain. Depression is a constant companion that I am fighting with self-determination to not give up. The most frustrating? People don't know about it!!!! Doctors, nurses, all people!!! I had an IV inserted for a recent colonoscopy and the nurse must have hit a nerve because now just brushing my teeth is very painful!! We must change this. During my recent law suit, I was fighting having people understand RSD and what it means to be a professional classical guitarist, that also is so rare!!! But as Beethoven said when he lost his hearing: I will defy this fate and grab the beast into its cavernous throat! Happy Easter! May you be blessed and may more people know about this chronic pain syndrome. I came to your site looking for a list of clinics that offer ketamine, and found so much more. Thank you for this all this information, it means so much to so many!Colleen and Pashahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06127216661996161480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-942200105185190310.post-81638860612807254762011-11-27T20:14:37.921-08:002011-11-27T20:14:37.921-08:00Thank you so much for starting this.I can relate i...Thank you so much for starting this.I can relate in MANY ways, I have been following the ketamine "reboot" treatment for years. I feel anxious in a good way, I believe it WILL help me, and now I am encouraged to find treatment elsewhere versus losing 2 more years waiting to make my appointment. I too feel the weather as if it is part of me....how can anyone not believe in our pain. No person would EVER choose this version of a life they once had. <3 Alliallisinwonderland311https://www.blogger.com/profile/10276726161609969116noreply@blogger.com
